JOB DESCRIPTION
We are now looking for someone who wants to combine their interest in plant protection with an educational and fun job during the spring and summer!
The work at the plant protection centers mainly involves recurring assessments of plant pests in the field during the season, which is part of our forecasting and warning activities. The work may also include various sampling and inventories in the field for specific pests and resistance studies. In the office and labs, you will work on compiling results as well as disease and insect diagnostics. You may also have the opportunity to participate in field walks and information meetings for advisors and farmers.
The agricultural crops we work with include cereals, oilseeds, legumes, potatoes, corn, and sugar beets. In fruits and berries, we mainly focus on apples and strawberries, and for outdoor vegetables, we primarily work with the largest crop groups; cabbage, carrots, and onions.
The plant protection centers are located in various parts of the country and are part of the advisory unit's work. We are looking for seasonal employees for the offices in Kalmar, Skara, Linköping, Uppsala, and Landskrona.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with work experience related to agriculture or the green sector, primarily in crop production or professional horticulture.
You will need to travel to the fields by car, so a valid driver's license (B) is required. The work requires that you can understand and express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
It is an advantage if you are currently studying or have completed a relevant post-secondary green education or if you have previous experience working at a plant protection center. We also consider it an advantage if you have knowledge of diseases and plant pests under Nordic conditions and experience monitoring these in the field.
You are a structured person who takes responsibility for your tasks and completes what you start. You are flexible and collaborative, adapting to find win-win solutions for the entire team.
